Blogworthy

While the owner was away the sea lions played! These sea lions had a great time enjoying the warmth of the dark canvas of the boat cover Friday morning. It started with a couple of smaller sized sea lions doing a Sea World performance of jumping from the water onto the boat from the side (the swim step had spikes and plastic lawn chairs turned upside down to discourage them). There were several bystanders who were pretty impressed with their abilities, including ourselves. Friday night we heard them barking all night (the boat is only a couple hundred yards from the house)and they were still there on Saturday morning. It didn't take too long before the "little" sea lions moved out and the big dogs moved in. There were 3 who were just MASSIVE. They enjoyed the sun and the dark canvas until their weight ripped the canvas from the boat and came tearing down. They all fell in, but quickly recovered and managed to balance themselves along the back and side edges of the boat. The close up pictures are of the bigger ones. Drew took the boat out with Hallie to assess the damage they had done. He tried yelling at them to try to get them to move but these sea lions stared straight back at him and didn't budge an inch. Saturday afternoon the owner of the boat came back for a huge surprise and had to do some definite damage control!

That's crazy that you got to see that. Your very own Sea World show. Sad for the owner of the boat though. . . definitely blog worthy :)

Wow! That is amazing. Sea lions are kind of annoying and loud. To bad for the boat though!
