Hallie's First Talk!

This past Sunday was exciting as Hallie had her first talk in Primary! She was so excited and we prepared over and over again just in case she got up there and wanted to back out...but she didn't! She sat up front in the "Talk" chair and did an awesome job. I'm so proud of her!

Shoes Shoes Shoes!

I was surfing the internet, doing some shopping online (the BEST and ONLY way to shop with kids!) and found these cute patent flats. I love the color and shape of the shoe. They would look great with a pair of black or navy shorts! I to shop but I love to shop for shoes even more! Heidi Swapp always talks about finding what inspires you and I think that these shoes are my inspiration for today!

Pool Week!

On Saturday we reached a high of 85 degrees and so I decided we needed a little sun! My old high school has a great swimming area with lap pools, zero entry kid pool with water fountains, and an awesome whirl pool! We had a blast! The water was heated and we stayed from morning to late afternoon! Hallie and I were playing around and found a lady bug in the water. We brought it over to show the boys and Drew put it on Braden. He spent some time entertained, trying to smoosh the bug. It's supposed to be gorgeous this next week and since it's SPRING BREAK we are going to hit up the pool everyday!

Splish, Splash!

Last Wednesday Drew put Braden in the kitchen sink for a bath while he finished the dishes. Braden loves the water and was enjoying every minute of it! It looked so fun that Hallie had to join him in the sink next to him (don't ask me how she fit!) and the two of them went to town making it a splash contest. By the time we took them out, my kitchen floor was COVERED with water and Drew and I sloshed through it to get to the stairs! Needless to say, my kitchen floor is clean!

First Swim of the Year!

This past week have been so beautiful outside. The temps have been in the low 80's and so I decided it was time to get some sun. Because it really isn't warm enough to jump into a non-heated swimming pool, I bought a fun blow-up pool and filled it with water warm enough for the kids. Chandler had a half day so we picked her up and had a blast. Braden got in on the action, too! He splashed in the pool for over an hour with me. I drenched him in sunscreen because the kid is so white! We are loving this great weather!

House

Becky blogged about her "slight" obsession with the show OC. Well, I just watched MY favorite show, House. I've been watching it since it started (in 2005) faithfully every Tuesday night. It's a medical diagnostic show and every week is a mysterious illness that you have to figure out during the show's hour. It's so great! I don't really have much time to watch any TV (Drew complains that I need to at least watch the news, but I don't) but I LOVE House. I have recruited my dad as a fan and also Drew and Hallie. It's a family event at our house! Hallie even loves it, too! We all rush to the TV at 8PM with our popcorn and blankets. I also love the fact that, like the OC, two of the cast members are dating in real life and actually are engaged (the girl in red and the guy with the red tie---both doctors). If any of you have not tried out HOUSE then you are missing out! The show has won Emmy alwards, SAG, and Golden Globe awards, along with lots of other awards. I love it!

Breezy and Beautiful!

Alright, I know I'm supposed to be better at spacing my blogs out. I go awhile, adding nothing, and then all of a sudden I have lots to post! But I have to post these pictures of our kite flying today. It was low 70's today, sun shining, with enough breeze to get a kite up. Anyone living out of state jealous yet? Just kidding! So I decided we should try to get our kite up and so Drew grabbed it and we took it to the soccer park behind our house. We were able to get it so high and Hallie loved running with Drew to get it going. So then we decided to play on the playground for awhile and just attached the string to the stroller. The kite just kept soaring in the sky until a couple guys from Drew's Sunday School class had come over and asked us whose kite was in a tree a couple streets over. Our kite had lost its breeze and came down 2 streets over (over a row of homes) and into a tree of the next row of homes. So we cut the string and saved our kite. It was alot of fun while it lasted and the kids enjoyed some time outdoors.

Braden's New Do

Braden's hair was getting a little long and his helmet was sliding around too much because the helmet grips better to the actual skin than sliding around from the slickness from hair. So we decided to give him a little buzz and Drew did the honors. We went out and bought some clippers and gave him a number 2! Drew wanted to do a number 1 but I protested and I'm so glad I did! His hair is so short now. I'm kinda sad because I liked his peach fuzz, but the new do is growing on me. Braden just sat there in the sink trying to break or play with everything on the counter until dad started becoming a little too meticulous. He had put in his time and was done!
